Born in the province of Naples, Raffaele Abete graduated with honors from
the Conservatorio Cimarosa in Avellino and furthered his studies with
Lella Cuberli. He made his debut in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Count
Almaviva), Don Giovanni (Don Ottavio), and Lucia di Lammermoor
(Edgardo), establishing himself in Italian and international theaters. He
won competitions such as "Una voce per l’Arena", which led to his debut at
the Arena di Verona in Nabucco (Ismaele). He has performed major
roles in La Bohème (Rodolfo), Tosca (Mario Cavaradossi),
La Traviata (Alfredo), Rigoletto (Duke of Mantua), Madama
Butterfly (Pinkerton). He has performed in prestigious theaters such
as La Scala, Staatsoper in Vienna, Opera Carolina, Teatro Comunale di
Bologna, Festival Puccini, Welsh National Opera, New York City Opera, and
many others, recognized for his versatility and vocal technique.
